Possibly. There are no guarantees.
I know the FAQ says that Fusion Brain requires USB 2.0, but my carputer only has USB 1.1, and there are no available expansion slots. What would happen if I plugged the FB into a USB 1.1 port? Would it still work, albeit slower?

Possibly. There are no guarantees.
We haven't tested it with 1.1, and some controllers are picky. If it doesn't work, we'd gladly take a refund... But we don't have any legacy computers to test with.
There is no reason for it not to work with 1.1, but we have no way to test. So just like the minimum software requirements, we list the minimum as the lowest that we have the ability to test on.

simple fix, just purchase and install this guy http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16815104216 if you are not sure. It's only 14 bucks and you should be good to go. Of course this will only work if you have room for it.
Good Luck friend

I'm sorry if that message came off hostile, it was just a legit question. I greatly appreciate you going this extra mile and testing it on 1.1
Initial test proved good!!! Although I must caveat that with a statement about no hub and no other peripherals, yet. Maybe tonight, I'll take it out to the car with its three hubs running 7 peripherals.
Also the hubs used make a big difference. All mine are unpowered and expensive since they're no longer manufactured; but they'll handle everything I throw at them, survive crank and hibernation, reconfig automatically when moving peripherals from slot to slot, etc and support both 1.1 and 2.0 simultaneously. (I have about a dozen other hubs in my resale bin cause they failed to meet one or more of the above).
More testing later.
