    New Brain Owner

That's right I have made the purchase. Hope to get it this week sometime. I have a demo I need to do with it and could use a little help. I would like to setup up a test area with a 12v battery and a on/off switch and a light bulb. I would like to have this done within RR application.

I'm trying to understand the RRFusion app but this is all so new to me. I dont have the brain yet but it is coming. I heard that I could set up a virtual brain to build the app.

I know this is just the beginning of what I'm trying to achieve but if I can figure this out it should better help me understand all the other thing I want to do with this brain.

Thanks for the help in advance.

RRFusion = Not made by us

Fusion Control Centre Uber MDX = made by us

MDX has the virtual brain, and can be embedded into RoadRunner like any external application.

RRFusion I dont know if it works without having the actual FB present, but it allows a button in RoadRunner to be used.

RRFusion is great! If you use RR as your frontend, its simple to add, you can create your own skin and the RR addin commands do all the work. I like it cause I have several things going on on the same screen i.e., I/O from RR, GPS, RRTMS, and RRFusion. As opposed to imbedding FBC in a screen by itself and losing the seamless integration.

I keep hoping for both. I mean, the best of both worlds. I'd like to have seamless integration in RR, but I want the versitility and functionality of FCC. I think it would be the coolest thing since exhaust-driven turbos if variables from FCC were available to RR, in the same manner as direct readings and outputs are availble now with RRFusion. With RRfusion you can see if your door is ajar, but with FCC you can do something about it. I dunno, maybe I'm taking a narrow view, I thought that was why people wanted a functional COM for FCC. But maybe something else can be done. Maybe both softwares could work at the same time where some simple data is available in RR, and FCC takes care of my HVAC project, but probably not. And I really need some of the proccessed values available to me, and user interaction available to FCC. I guess I'm just stuck embedding it.

Maybe 2K1Toaster should just evolve FCC into a fully functional front end!!!

People say FCC is complicated but I don't think its more complicated than RR, not by a long shot. But maybe that's because I follwed it all of the way through and even tried to help guide it to it's current state.

I have to agree. FCC is really a quite simple and elegant package once you "see what's going on." I suggest taking the sample skin included with the download and going through each element of it in the Configurator. That really provides a good insight of how it works.
    Thanks,

I want this to be a seamless integration using RR and Fusion Brain. You all are losing me.
I want to have muliple gauges running in RR. All my car gauges.. I have Speedometer, State of Charge, Amps,Volts(car batteries running Motor), Volts Aux (this is the stuff in the car like lights and so forth) I would like to have them running all on one screen. These gauges are using Flash to make them work of course. Not sure that matters or not.

But I wanted to turn on a light by switching an image on/off for a demo on Sunday. I know you all know how to accomplish this goal. I'm reading stuff as much as possible and 2K1Toaster is helping me setup a virtual brain so I can get to setting up and breaking stuff which I appreciate greatly. So is there like a diagram out there or something to show me how this is done?

As always any help is greatly appreciated.

If you've got a show on Sunday, you need to be knocking out your screen graphics, now.

For me designing the graphics layout is always the hardest part. Building it in Photoshop by modifying an existing PSD is not too bad if you already have the PSDs handy. Then there's the arduous task of overlaying the .skin file.

If you're just adding buttons to an existing screen, no problem, just add indicators, buttons, and text labels to the .skin and make your indicators slightly darker than the text. No graphics changes needed. From there, once you get the FB, run your sensor wires and its just test and tune. Voila!

If you want seamless integration in RR, the only thing that does this, to my knowledge, is RRFusion. You can embed a FCC window in RR, there would likely be seams. But you say you have flash guages already, for RR? In a RR skin? ok then the answer for that would have to be utilizing RRFusion at the present time. I haven't kept up on that thread (though I mean to) but it seems that guages will take some work and customizing, my understanding is RRFusion works with buttons and labels. If your guages are in FCC then again, you can embed it in RR.

Are you using FCC to turn this light on? I ask because of some of the stuff written above? If so, then power the light via a relay, connect the coil of the relay to a digital output on the board. THen you have to configure that digital output in the configurator. Then you have to make a button in a graphics page ( you should have an on image and an off image ready to go by now) . open the button's property page and .. link the images, link the output and you should be good to go. It's a pretty broad question, but any specifics you have questions about can be gone over in more detail.

    Here you go...

This is what I want to have going on. I want to click this button and have the image stay the direction. It looks like the RRFusion skins is setup to have the ability to do this. This is why I need it to be seamless.

I have the RRFusion installed I think. I have followed all the directions you all are providing me. All I need is my BRAIN..... LOL LOL LOL ok my Fusion Brain.

It looks like I'm going to need a couple Fusion Brains to run all this stuff. Not sure 20 analog will be enough at this point.

Well let me know what you all think.

    Thanks

Since you are putting it all on the same page, why not just embed FCC? RRFusion will work but it is more adept for little things on lots of pages. That is its major advantage. If everything is in 1 spot, then you can use either and it will look the same.
