    You should have a resistor in line with your LED or your burn them out faster. They don't have to be big, but it will increase the life greatly.

    this is an led on something already, there is already a current limiting resistor.

    yup, that'd work fine. + goes to the outer pin on the input, - goes to the middle

    i knew about the resistor, but it was just a draw-out to give a better idea of what i was wanting.
