I have the SWI adapter for my Pioneer stereo. It takes the resistor-based output from my steering wheel controls, then converts it to a 3.5mm-type 'remote' connection that plugs directly into the headunit.

In case like this, would it make sense to even use the SWI part, or just pull it out and tap the FB into the stock output? Is the FB software easily-configurable to respond to this sort of input?
