Above with the xml schema and then version, that is what I was referring to. That is not the correct way to do it.

is the correct way if you have a V4. That GUID inbetween is actually depreciated as well, you can make that "penguin" if you wanted, it will work the same now.

I'm using virtual brain, so it shouldn't matter if it is V3 or V4 right? Outputs should be turning on after standby regardless if V3 or V4 with the virtual brain, shouldn't it?

Could it be the same reason that the MDX picture is broken and that the outputs are not turning back on after standby? It is meant to be Direct X that brings back MDX image after standby correct? Maybe I should try fixing this and that may help with the output status?

Yes it matters a lot which version your brain is set to. There is a virtual brain for V3 and V4. The byte streams are completely different. So the virtual brain should be ok, but if your actual hardware doesnt match, it definately wont work.

And yes the screen redraws are a DirectX issue. I'll see if can put in some forced refreshes in the resume code.

Getting back to this - reinstalled MDX I downloaded last night and still having a problem with the output, it is now turning on as soon as I start MDX and will not turn off until power is removed from the brain.

Also tried testing the outputs using MDX configurator, they all turned on/off as expected - but when I turned it off the configurator abended.

Pretty much the same configuration as before, generated by the ninja wizard - 1 output and 1 input, input works fine......

You arent trying to run the configurator and MDX at the same time are you? I dont know what you mean by "abended".

They use the same driver, if the programs are always open and no close between them, previous state holds or it could be random depending on the error it supresses.

Nope, not trying to run them at the same time.

Abended - sorry long time mainframer here - blew up, gave me a windows error message(which I am afraid I do not recall at this time) and shut down the configurator

ah "abnormal ending".

Can you run a virtual brain and see if that output mirrors the output on the brain?

I don't see a problem with your configuration file if you are indeed using a V4 board. People using V3 boards with V4 code experience what you are saying.

Is your board more square and blue, or green and a rectangle?
