Configurator software not recognizing my fusion brain

I am having a problem with the Configurator software not recognizing my fusion brain. I successfully installed the drivers on two different computers, the blue led is lit but the Configurator keeps saying that there are no brains connected. Im running windows 7 and v4 brain. Anyone know how to solve this? Do I have a defective fusion brain?

The site has instructions for when it's not detected. You end up copying the id from device manager into the fusion brain software to get it to detect it.

Not been having much luck with mine after that though.
