You will need .NET 2.0, .NET 3.0, .NET 3.5, DirectX and optional DirectX components. This will also mean you will need the Windows Installer 3.0 and 3.1 updates.

I have those installed but when i try to open mdx it shows up in task manager for about 45sec then disappears. I get no errors or anything any idea on any components I may have removed that are needed?

    Thanks,

Have you run it in debug mode? If it is erroring it should give a warning.

Yup, you took out Microsoft's SAPI 5 implementation. Put that back in.

With today's processors, it is really useless to strip an OS anyways. You are just causing headaches for yourself. Next time you add some other hardware or software there could be one dll missing that you will have to hunt down. A couple gigabytes of useless data is good for when you need it.

If you optimize your BIOS boot, the OS being stripped is basically useless.

i know that the OS stripping is not really necessary with current tech but I actually Like having the working system as small as possible. I want to say my current setup is right at 5GB not counting GPS maps. and yes I know with HDDs at a low price and SSD drives dropping in price that doesn't mater either
