Not only is it alive, it is breathing signs of life back to the PC... All is well in the world of Fusion Control Centre! :D
I have boards in. Of the 10, I have tested 1 to have a dead short somewhere. Possibly fixable, possibly not. So that may leave up to 9 available. I need at least 1 for testing, so there still may be 8 as planned for beta slots for all of you guys. Those slots are all filled as of now. Once the real ones come in, then all pre-orders will ship with production units. We will send production units to all beta testers who request a production model instead of beta. Who knows what might be found once it gets out there, so we may have to. It may not have any significant changes, so you may elect to keep your beta as a souvenir. :)
Currently I have it alive on my bench. It is talking to the PC, communicating over USB. I have tested the power and USB thoroughly, and am glad to say it is a far superior solution than the model used on the Version 4. Stable and low heat over large ranges.
So for the other boards, I have to hand solder a few chips and LEDs in order for them to be shipped out as beta. This all happens after I get some firmware going. Right now they have no "brains" and just spew back "V6" to a terminal program.
I will keep you all updated if you like.
...We would definitely like!! :)
That is one gorgeous looking piece of work there 2k1, its most impressive!
Looking forward to this hitting production!! :)
Thankyou very much! It has been in the works for a couple years now, and it feels very good to have that little LED illuminate!
Also, that is an awesome oscilloscope (3 1/2 drive and all :) )
...so many outputs...
Now for some bad news, I will not be shipping these boards as the prototypes. There is a reverse current problem where if the supply is too much higher than the usb (5v) it can backfeed into the computer. Major problem for computers that arent protected. My Alienware and Dell are ok as is my older Toshiba, however my almost new Toshiba laptop is not...
Easy fix but I am going to get a new spin done to make sure it can never be undone.
Just a humble question: Why have you stopped selling the v4? I mean just until the v 6 is ready to fly.
A way to build up interest......? Donīt think it is needed in that case :)
(Maybe it is just out of stock as it says in the shop....!)
How is v6 coming along?
Even I, being a newbie, can see this is the answer to many of the dreams I have about what use one can have of the car pc :)
We do not plan to stop selling the v4's until after the v6's are released.
As for v6:
There was a design flaw that made it a little squirrly. Hopefully it has been fixed, and Revision B should be arriving shortly.
