you know i'll grab at least one of these as soon as they're done man! just one of these would most likely be enough for my car, lol...

wait i just thought about something....... sensors will now be 3.3v? does this mean i cant monitor my 0-5V sensors that came with my car??? That's going to be a pain if I have to use a voltage divider just to read O2, throttle position, MAP, TIP, etc...

You can use those sensors. Easiest is voltage divide them.

However, they may not be 5v sensors. They may be 5v because they are being supplied with 5v, but are actually resistive. So if you connect their supply to 3.3v, then they magically become 3.3v sensors. Now this obviously wont work with everything, but it is a possibility. The easiest method is just divide them.

I may even make some easy to use voltage divider boards that only do this if demand is high enough.

    Warning: They are like peanuts.

unfortunately i cant change the supply voltage, and none are resistive..... the sensors already in the car have their own 5v supply and i just read the analog return off the sensors...

also.... changing to 3.3v doesnt increase accuracy...because all you did was change the range... to increase accuracy you will have to bump up the number of readable steps. you now have i believe 1023 right? increase that and you'll increase the accuracy because you'll take the same range and split it up into even smaller measurable segments... for instance, with a 5v range, if you take your .0049v accuracy, double the steps, now you have accuracy to within .00245v...

    Then use dividers

There is a lot more behind the scenes to increase accuracy. A different ADC (same topology, different tech), more stable power regulation, and more.

    Interface 1 is working.

Alright, it is up and running. I can control relays and read back sensors.

This version will have something special for you guys, a serial interface. I am currently trying to get both interfaces to coexist and be happy. But as of right now, it is controllable with your favourite terminal program. This also means it should work on any OS, and be usable in a couple seconds from the command line, something that has been requested a lot (or at least was back in the day).
