Happy birthday! And what a great wife to even know what toget you.

You can do anything with it from making your car fully automated, to using it as a not so good paperweight. Choice is yours.

MDX has built in speech control, or you can do RRVoice and MDX COM with RR, or you can do RRFusion (by Sonic) but I do not know how that integrates with RRVoice but I assume it is pretty straightforwards.

I would put a good noise cancelling microphone on your xmas list, like the andrea. The car is noisy, and it is difficult for any mic to work when moving or with the windows down. I would test out the speech window in MDX where it will show you everything the mic heard and what it did and did not accept.

Thanks i will have to look into that. I really think the speech thing would be awsome. I was using RRvoice in the altima i had. worked ok. I was using the adrea setup with usb sound card. I would love andrea 300 dollar mic but its a bit pricey. I have just recently moved into a new house so computer time is on the bottom of the list right now. But i hope soon to get some time to work on my new setup. Just bought a 2011 subaru legacy.

SAPI5 is pretty cool. If you want to just see what can be done, grab any old mic and use the speech debugger. If you can setup the speech commands such that it is hard for road noise to mimick them (i.e. longer/more specific commands) it should work really well. The speech was for home automation primarily though.
