    Fusion Brain multiple monitors

Hello amazing people with lots of knowledge,
I've been searching these forums for a couple of days now, can someone tell me what kind of multiple monitor support the Fusion Brain software has? Would it support showing different gauges on different displays?

Since my car PC died a week ago I'm sliding down the slippery slope of a complete rebuild.

    Much appreciated,

    Anthony.

Hmm... Unfortunately not. However, FuseGL should be able to run multiple instances however I have not tried it yet. You may be able to get away with 2 independent instances, but information wont be shared between the two.

Are you intending to run gauges in the front and back or something?

That could very well be all I need to do. Basically I'm looking at ripping out my whole dash and replacing the lot with two 8" widescreen LCDs, that mimic the original instrument cluster, so there will be different gauges on different screens, but also the ability to switch one of the screens to, for example, my forward facing night vision. All of this in in a 70's era GM vehicle to give you an idea of what the instrument cluster currently looks like. Here are some pics of someone elses that I found floating around on the interweb:

The main screen will be mounted to the left (RH drive here in Aus) the same as where it is at the moment, but inset into the dash. That will be a touchscreen and the main input device for the whole setup.

Would the two instances be able to accept inputs from the one fusion brain?

Or possibly run the two screens as an extended desktop and stretch across both of the displays?

Theoretically yes because neither locks it and both can error check for collisions. However it will not be completely seamless like it is otherwise because they will be "fighting" over it. I haven't tried it on purpose, but I have had my test program I use to make sure the brains are OK before shipping and FuseGL open at the same time and both worked, but both lagged and were not smooth.

That is probably the best/easiest for right now if you can get away with it.

Cool thanks for the info, I've now got a better idea of the direction I need to go in.

Now to wonder off and do some research on boot / load times of various mainboards...
