Have you checked out the Fusion Brain website? They have a lot of good information. How you will go about hooking it up to the car depends on your car.

Well I don't know what your electrical knowledge is. You are trying to tackle THE HARDEST possible automation that can be done in a car maybe apart from auto-pilot. And what makes it hard is that everyone is different.

I don't mean they are all different as in laptops. Sure they are all "different", but underneath they all have the same parts just in different locations and grades of quality.

HVAC systems are completely different. Take a tech that worked on X brand of car's HVAC his whole life and give him Y brand of car's HVAC, and most usually nothing will be familiar.

Everything that clicks or pushes switches electricity somewhere to turn something on or off. A relay connected to a digital output does the same thing. You have to figure out where to put it. It is impossible for me to say "cut the red wire and put the relay between it and the flux capacitor". Every car is different. You should be familiar with electronics or at least have the patience to try it out before you attempt this. Every knob or dial that doesnt turn things on or off, but changes something that is already on, would be controlled by relays or PWM through MOSFETs. Anything you want as feedback like temperature or anything you want to display such as status of things, would connect to an input.

i just dont really follow the benefits. any late model car has climate control, and works off a temp guage already. you will never make a pc setup thats as easy to use or as nearly reliable as an OEM system... im trying really hard to see the benefits of controlling your hvac with the carpc i just cant grasp the idea

I've got one with dual zone automatic temperature but it doesn't do anything by voice. So instead of saying "turn up the heat" I have to go through the agony of pressing the temp button on the steering wheel.
    Good Luck
