This is completely independant from OBDII. Absolutely nothing to do with it.
anything that has a sensor on your car, can be interfaced with the Fusion Brain very easily. If it is a 3-wire sensor then pretty much directly, and if 2-wire sensors, then we will sell an adapter to make it work with the FB.
Anything that can be read on a car can be read through the Brain, the only limitation is price.
Oil & Rad Temp: They already have sensors so this is an easy integration oce you find the correct wires on your car.
Air & Fuel Flow: I am not really sure. Maybe Tim knows.
Tire & Brake Temps: The tire could be an IR thermometer, and the brake maybe as well.
Tire Pressure: Some cars I know have tire pressure sensors, so all you would need is the sensor from that.
Speed & RPMs: Well speed sensor can be found at the wheels and tach wire can be found usually by the engine. The tach wire can be used with a frequency to voltage converter. And you can trip an output with the voltage from an analogue, so you can use that as a shift light. If the voltage is at x where x cooresponds to a rpm, then turn output #y on else turn output y off.
As for the radar detector, you can interface it with the PC if you know something that the radar detector does when it detects a signal. Like lights up an led or something.

oh my god this is soo cool!!! i feel like a school kid thats just discovered porn!!! LOL
so i could just buy a cheap radar detector that light up an led but replace the led with 2 cables that go to one of the input sensors?
i havnt got a clue about programing etc but i am an electrician so im half way there to being able to do a fair bit of stuff, if i connect an existing oil temp sensor to one of the inputs how will the pc know to read temp and not psi or something, do you know what i mean?
oh and could you tell me how much it would be shipped to the uk in pounds sterling?
thanks for the quick reply!
Well shipping to the UK is now a flat rate of $25 so like 12.5GBP. My post office is absolute crap and they charged me more than the $20 we originally had, so I increased it to $25 to be sure. If I can figure out why it is more for me to ship, and fix it, then I will lower it again.
And the software is now all formula based. It reads in a voltage no matter what. So a resistive sensor (2-wire) needs a resistor network to spit out voltage (3-wire) instead of resistance. I figure sinceyou said electrician I can say resistive and voltage instead of 2-wire and 3-wire.
So you need to figure out the coorelation between the output of the sensor and the actual values that are to be read. For instance it may be the voltage outputed multiplied by 1.5 or something and that will be how many PSI the timer is at. This is all configured in the skin.
As for the radar detector, yes pretty much. An led that lights up is the easiest. It could be 1 led or a led bar-graph. Since you are familiar with electronics you may be able to build a simple circuit to take the speaker outputs for the chirp and convert it from a beep beep to a on signal when beeping and off when not beeping. Shoudlnt be too hard.

electrician - as in big industrial cable, panels etc.
electronics - still learning!!! lol
do you do a pre-assembled 2 wire to 3 wire converter? or is it fairly simple?
ive just downloaded the software so i will have a look at that, is it possible to have the information displayed as a load of analouge dials? i was wondering if its possible to use some obd type software to display the brain fusion data if you know what i mean!
We have not actually made the 2-3 wire converter yet. It is really simple. We are going to try and get one done so it makes everything easier.
And yes you can make guages. Using the same style as I used with the animated bar graph display as well as the animated thermometer. Just make an image of a dial, and then rotate the needle and save in as many steps as you want. So 1 image would be of the dial with the needle all the way at 0. The next would be the dial with the needle a little higher, and the next with the needle a little higher again and so forth. So yes it can be done.

cool! i have started making a skin but ive just had a plan that might make it all a bit quicker! watch this space! lol
another question: when you use an exsiting temp sensor, (for instance one that monitors engine bay temps), how will it be possible for the brain to know what temps go with what voltage? if you dont know the temp as there is no current temp guage for that, you wont know what to tell it to display.
sorry if i dont make much sense but its hard to put a point accross when you dont know what your talking about!
All that information should be documented somewhere. It will be specific perhaps to your make/model/year or maybe make/model/generation or maybe just make who knows. So you would have to get your hands on the datasheet for it. Or when you find the sensor grab the manufacturer off of it and all the numbers and google.
