I suppose I can always make suggestions. :P ... is there some sort of gamma setting that can make my screen look like this to preserve my night vision?

There's entire application suites like this out there that have "night-mode" enablers, but they're proprietary million-dollar public safety systems for police/ambulance/fire... ! Yours is the closest I can find to anything like that!

This is so wonderful. Love it. The new gammaControl Config v1.8 is so easy to use my mom can handle it. I really appreciate your work on this one. Easy to use and works just fine. (Use it only to change gamma on my main screen).

Want to give some extra credit to the "AutoDimming" future. I set it to only be activated during night mode. And it gives me the possibility to dim the screen very dark at night time. Just touch the screen and it gets a little brighter, so i can see it a bit better and it fades back in a couple of seconds to almost pitch dark. VERY useful when you drive so much at night as i do.

I have one question. Would it be hard for you to make it talk to the GPS unit? So it can some how see LAT and LON itself? The reason for the question/request is that when you drive "big trucks" across Europe. Sunset/rise varies pretty much. A Trip can go from Norway to itally or even longer sometimes.

How are you planning on getting the data to the program? I just implemented those sendmessage commands, but I want to know how to test them.

The commands will be: SetLatDegrees, SetLatMinutes, SetLanSeconds, SetLonDegrees, SetLonMinutes, SetLonSeconds. Each of them will be followed by a space and an integer value.

What about if you make it grab/listen for info directly from a com port! Isn't the data from the different GPS units similar? Then all we need is to use a com port splitter (as most of us already use i guess) and a option in the config?

I'm a truck driver, Not a software developer That's why i am so gratefully for all you Software wizards out there (As i am completely blank about this type of thing).

Well... the problem is that there are multiple GPS standards. There's NMEA and SiRF, both of which are different. And I'd hate to do a parser for NMEA sentences because others have done it already.

I'm gonna post a message in the general software forum to see what solutions people have.

Is the fade effect only at AutoDimming active?
I use only automatically change gamma and there would be a fade effect very nice. Not the hard switching between day and night modes.
