Thread: Garmin Mobile PC - No On-ScreenKeyboard????

DSH electronics has developed a nice freeware touchscreen keyboard for Garmin Mobile PC.

Downloaded & installed it...
It shows up and such...
But every time I try to use it on GMPC, it doesn't even appear! Adding injury to insult, when I close GMPC, the OSK mysteriously pops up! Is it just me, or am I doing something wrong?!?!

Does anyone have to OSK file from DSH? the link a couple of posts up seems to be broken, and I would really like to try it out for my install.

Not happy with most OSK’s so I wrote one. I wanted something simple that only had keys I normally use to enter an address. Nice thing about this is it does not obscure the left side of the screen and is opened or closed by touching the “GARMIN” text at the top left of the screen.

It works as well as a standalone Garmin GPS I gave to my wife. I also have the GPS map zoom in or out with the CH-UP and CH-DN buttons on the steering wheel when the GPS is on screen.

Made a QuickTime movie Screen-Capture of the GPS with OSK working.

Thanks m8, had 250mm in 12 hrs 200mm of that in 5hrs on top of flood waters coming down the river. Neighbourhood was an island for a day but all ok.

Must do a video of the setup soon, found a way to auto kill Garmin process and auto restart GPS if it hangs – I’m using the latest build which can do that sort of thing, only happened once so far, touch wood.
