Gmpc & bu353?

Good Evening,
I'm looking to replace the stock navigation in centrafuse with Garmin Mobile PC. Their interface is very easy to use, and it's a well detailed program. However, I currently own a BU-353, and I am curious if this unit will work with garmin...
(or even tom tom, granted this is not a tom tom forum

)

I'm running GMPC with a BU-353 and it works great

Did you need to use gpsgate, etc? Or did garmin find the unit? Are you using the software only version w/ or w/o maps?

I need to use XPort because the GPS is used by RR as well. Can't remember if it works without XPort if RR isn't running.

What do you mean software only version? I didn't buy it with the Garmin GPS hardware if that's what you mean. Running Australian 2009 maps atm.

Garmin Mobile PC (the software-only version) works fine with BU-353 (directly, or via GpsGate or Xport). The Garmin Mobile PC needs to be updated to the latest version of 5.00.60. Earlier versions didn't work with GpsGate.
