Any way to remove transparent bar from top of display?

So, I just got my Garmin MobilePC 20x and got it loaded.
I think it's working well but is there a way to remove the transparent bar from the top of the display? It's the one that displays "Ready to Navigate" and street names, etc...when viewing the map. The bar is taking up about 1/2 the map area on my 7" display.

    Thanks for your help.

i don't think there is any way right now. you could double check in the menus if there is an option to "show street name" or something like that...

you could also use the alternate views which make the left side of the screen a "birds eye" map and the directions are on the right side....

Thanks, I'll have to give the alternate views a look

    In another thread, http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/road...68-easily.html
others told me of a way to push the top of the display beyond the screen. Effectively removing the top bar. So, while there isn't a way to remove it, there is a way to not show it.

    Thanks for your help.

yeah you could try not showing it the way you described...

but for the alternate view just touch (or click) on the street name, the alternate view will come up. you could probably make this permanent in the menu but i haven't looked since i prefer the original view.

let us know how it goes!
