    TimW from maxima.org!

    Hey TimW!

This is replicant from 5th gen maxima.org. Welcome to mp3car.com forum!

Saw your post in the "Anyone have a Pathfinder" thread. Glad you came on over to visit.

There is one notable mp3car setup that I"ll have to find the link for, that is a 4th gen maxima, but still a nice clean install of an lcd in the double din spot.

I'll begin work on my dash tomorrow. I'm gonna get a scosche double din dash kit, and make a fiberglass mold of it so that I can cut it to fit my lcd perfectly. Basically I'll hvae a thin piece of plexiglass where the hole for the lcd will go, then the lcd will go behind it as to give everything a very um clean look
in fact, i may just bondo the plexi glass' edges to the fiberglass dash kit sand and paint it like that so its nice and clean and flush, if it goes well I could start selling them make them for different sizes

Well anyway, I can't wait to see you're carpc, I"ll get the pics of my Intrepid's carpc back up and running again so you can see what I have again.

Look forward to chatting with yah on maxima.org.. BTW, drop by #mp3car on EFNET sometime, my nickname there is replicant

    Peace.

Speaking of maximas and mp3s .. there is also another named spyhunter

I just finished my case.. I just need to finish wiring the lcd and make a face for it and I'll be good to go

Next step, figure out what I'm doing for an amp so I can install the bloody thing.

    heh...

    Hey Rep..

obviously timw was already taken so I'm tpware here...

Actually... I'm probably going the weak route and getting the Xenarc 700tsv (thanks to you, rep)/Ezgo for now. Although, I do want to put a character display in the sunglass holder (since the 2k2 holder wasnt made for sunglasses :/ ) Running that wire may be unrealistic. still reading up.

Now I just have to hope spysupply007.com is legit. I cant find any complaints in the newsgroups or on the web. Doh, I havent searched here yet.. guess I'll do that.

again Rep, thanks for the link..

    hahah

    TimW on mp3car.com,

My apologies for the confusion Glad we could provide some laughs for yah! I do however still want to see your setup. I needa get my pics back online of my old setup.

    TimW from maxima.org/tpware from mp3car.com,

Sweeet man! Glad I could help yah, you guys on maxima.org have welcomed me warmly, so I have to return the favor when you join another forum I'm a member of. If you ever need any help with this stuff, I'm always here to help All the folk on this board are nice and knowledgeable in different areas as well. I'm just glad that this hobby has grown as much as it has, unforunately though, the big dog companies seem to want in on the action too, as many commercial units are hitting the shelves now. :/ Its still more fun having a home built setup and impressing ppl more than just putting in a 2000 eclipse screen and a 1500 eclipse dvd player :P

Anyway, good to hear from yah on this side of the net.

Haha, is the double din install you are talking about the one I wrote up? It is found at http://greginfinity.tripod.com ? I have since sold the maxima and the MP3 install is not in the new car and won't be since it is small, (an MR2). This car is all performance for now. But once I am done with the turbo project, I will probably sell it and go back to another maxima, I am waiting to find one at the salvage yard. I miss it so much. I cannot wait to get my MP3 setup back into one, and this time around, the car is getting a turbo!!!!

    well

I *wanted* to be in the group deal, but as Get Smart would say "I missed it by >< this much". Actually, I saw it the day after it was locked. I would have definately been 'in'

I started 'feeling your pain' toward the end of that group deal. Looked alot like trying to herd cats from what I could tell
