Calibrated microphones are generally quite expensive. A reasonably priced alternative is the Behringer ECM8000, slightly more in price, but about the same in quality is the dbx pro RTA-M model (around $50 and $100 respectively). They will both need a microphone pre-amp that supplies what's known as phantom power. I personally own and use a dbx RTA-M and a Behringer XENYX 802 pre-amp ((less than $100 - lots of others will work), coupled to a laptop with an Audigy2 ZS sound card and TrueRTA software with the 1/24 octave resolution mode. Works well for me.
