Other than an OS, it looks like it should get you started. You will probably find that later you will want to add GPS, bluetooth, USB hub, 802.11, cellular modem, etc. It never ends...
Okay I'm very interested in putting a carPC in my Scion tC, but i have questions about it because I'm still confused on a few things.
As of no I am planning on getting the following:
Lilliput 629 7" Touch Screen
CASE: VoomPC-2 Enclosure http://www.mini-box.com/VoomPC-Enclo...8&category=101
MOBO: JetWay J7F3E-PB ... Proccesor included http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813153052
MEMORY: Kingston ValueRAM 1GB http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820141429
HDD: HITACHI Travelstar 100GB 5400 RPM 8MB Cache http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822146051
POWER SUPPLY: M2-ATX 160W Intelligent DC-DC PSU http://store.mp3car.com/ProductDetai...Code=PWR%2D015
DVD Drive: Slim Drive
I don't know if that is good enough or if i am missing stuff i need. I was wondering if it was at all possible for anyone to tell me what else i need to get to make this work. And since the CarPC is taking over as my head unit ... how will i control the audio and connect it to my car and stuff like that. I also have a subwoofer too. And finally i dont really understand how to power it ... ive just been told that the M2ATX is what i should get so if someone can help me out with that id greatly appreciate it.
Moved to general hardware.
The Hardware Dev forum is for those developing new hardware products, mmm kay.
That said, it looks liek you've got a good grasp of what you need.
I'd take some time and search the forums for issues with Jetway motherboards ant eh M2ATX power supply, though. That may be a stumbling block.
Also, 1GB RAM is probably overkill, but it should work fine for you.
As far as how to connect everything and get audio to the speakers, you should read the FAQ section and/or the Wiki. There's lots of good information for you in there.
