i have pretty much finished my dynamix 816 install to the dash of my toyota mr2, because of the immensely tight fit, i had to remove the buttons from the screen surround and make the surround smaller..

i was going to relocate the control buttons circuit board(to which the IR receiver is also located), but there was nowhere to put it.. so i realised, i do not actually need to be able to access the control buttons as all the same buttons are on the Remote control.

So therefore i decided to un-solder the IR sensor , which is a 3 pin component, then mount the IR somewhere else as its easier than finding a location for the whole circuit board... obv using 3 wires to connect the IR receiver to the board.

Problem i have is.. the pins on the IR receiver component all snapped off!!! the must have been made of cheese as they were so weak!

i now do not know what to use as a replacement, as there is no part number on the IR receiver component!

Does anyone have any suggestions or know of any part numbers etc, or what IR receiver could be used as a replacement??
