The same issue here, Lilliput does not display 800x480 correctly, so I end up using 800x600...

Question: I have a 2gig stick of PC2 6400 running at 800Mhz (manually set in the bios). It is probably overkill, but all I had in my spare parts box at the time. I assume that in Hibernate, XP writes the memory to the HD and then reloads that image back to the memory when it comes out of hibernation. Do you think I would see a quicker reboot if I used 512mb instead of 2gb? Mine seems slower than some of the times posted here by others. I'm curious if 256mb would run. Just need the minimum for this project. Anyone tried something as low as 256?

Additionally, since the recent conversation regards the resolution, I run a VM70 and mine won't do 800X480 either. I can't expand the phase enough to fill the screen. 800X600 runs fine, but of course, all the vids and pics are elongated.

Yes, less RAM will probably translate into quicker hibernate/resume times. However, with the 2GB stick you have a few options. Check out this article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/108393. You can set the maximum memory that XP can use to 512MB-1GB which will speed up the hibernate cycle. Then you could find a RAMDrive utility to use the remaining 1GB as a RAM based drive. Any files that are copied to the RAMDrive after bootup will take virtually no time to load the next time you access them.

Or... you could just downgrade the physical RAM in your system.
Is it that it's fun? Or that it lets you forget yourself?

When the machine is waking from hibernation it will read from disk and write back to memory, right? Let's say your PC has 2GB of RAM but is only using 300MB of it.

Will the hibernation file contain 300MB of data or 2000MB?

If you've specified in boot.ini that it is only allowed to use 300MB and that is why that's all it using, then the hibernation file will only be 300MB.

If you haven't specified anything and it is only by chance that its using only 300MB, then the hibernation file will be 2GB. That's why using more ram takes more time. It will take a lot longer to write the 2GB file to disk and read it back.

I tried TinyXP rev5 sometime ago and got the same error. I gave up on TinyXP, and using regular Windows XP is fine with this board, performance is nice.

I'm using this board w/ TinyXP rev4. I had it laying around already burned to a disk so I haven't bothered with newer revisions. Works great for me.

@studmonk3y: What kind of boot times are you getting with tinyxp v4?
