Has anyone hand any success in replacing the heatsink with a shorter one that will fit in a 1u case?
+ has anyone tried this mobo with a more demanding flash application like one of the games on:
www.candystand.com
?
thanks
Hi, has anyone tested this m/board with flash interactives in a web-browser?
I am particularly interested to see if it will handle more demanding flash interactives like this:
http://www.candystand.com/play.do;js...7AD2C?id=18242
+ has anyone found an alternate heatsink that will allow it to fit into a 1u case?
Any light folks can shed on these two questions would be greatly appreciated.
thanks!!

does anyone use a riser on this board?
i plan to once i get all my parts... no reason why they shouldn't work.
im probably going to use it for a smaller pci sound card... having trouble deciding which though... anyone have any recommendations?
i just got mine tonight! i got the D201GLY2 off of ebay for just over $80 shipped. (i needed the SATA)
i went and played headcase @candystand for a bit just for you... works perfect, couldn't even tell it wasn't my main machine (which is cutting edge)
i am also looking into getting a smaller heatsink... havent looked yet though :P
this thing does get pretty hot (both processor and northbridge) with no airflow at all (fanlees D201GLY2)... 65degrees + at idle!... a weak fan pointed at the heatsink from the side fixed this easily though, now im at 40 under load.
hibernates perfectly. and fast.
im not sure why people are complaing that the intel splash screen stays up too long. its faster than my asus micro-atx that im using in my carpc right now.
great mobo so far!!
hey guys im posting my impressions over here on this thread:
Intel D201GLY Little Valley Feedback?
let me know if you have anything you'd like me to test while i play with it.
ran into deep sh**t today.
wanted to upgrade bios (to latest 2008 version) to see if boot post times are faster.
result is that any (internal) pci devices such as soundcard, ethernet lan port, usb hub is having a resource conflict and are not available anymore.
so no lan nor usb cd rom drive nor usb flash stick. took me hours to downgrade bios with bootable usb stick but still the same.
any ideas? cd rom, usb etc recognized in bios but not windows xp. tried everything - remove device, deactivate, all kind of bios settings => no success
do i have to re-install windows. any chance to get it work? HELP and damn INTEL. what are they doing. bios upgrades that don't work. who has the january 2008 one successfully installed?
for now i can only answer your question about replacing the heatsink with a shorter one....have a look at a thread i made, it should help you out!

A couple of things i noticed about the d201gly2 board.
Pros:
-supports 800x480 on my lilliput eby-701
-Resume from hibernation is extremely fast! Less than 10sec?
-Performance is very good for RR running digital fx 2.5
Cons:
-POST SCREEN(Intel bootup logo) is relatively slow
-normal bootup takes 45-50 secs
