WARNING: DON'T UPGRADE TO LATEST BIOS. it deactivates all pci bus 0 devices (lan, sound, usb)

after hours reading the internet i was finally able to create a bootable usb flash disk and downgrade my bios to a recent version (took one from august to be safe). now everything is up and running again. BLAME ON YOU INTEL

I think there is now a thread about replacing it with the $15 1U heatsink which will fit. That thread has pictures comparing the original and the afterwards and the 1U is much smaller. So I am thinking originally it wont fit.

Regarding slow boot / post times another person pointed out that disabling legacy USB in the bios improved boot times. I can confirm this. Post times ranged anywhere from 30 seconds to 2 minutes on my system. Once i turned off legacy USB support my post times were cut down to a few seconds. This board is working very nicely now.

yup this board is really fast IF legacy usb is disabled. but that could cause problems if you use a usb keyboard to get into your bios if things go haywire... or maybe not? what exactly does legacy usb do? i thought it was for keyboards etc...?

I would like to know the answer to this question too. I would like to disable it but what problems can it cause with it disabled?
