    Additional USB ports

The board come with 2 USB ports, and it supports 6, right?

So I need to buy USB connectors for the motherboard, is this easy to find (eg in Fry's)?

    Thanks

yes it supports 6 with 2 sets of internal header pins. I found the usb headers at a local mom and pops for 6 bucks so they shouldnt be hard to find.

They (the headers) should be easy to find almost anywhere, ebay, tigerdirect, frys. They usually don't cost more than a few dollars. Make sure they support two USB ports though. Sometimes they only come with one USB port, and that'd be a waste.

@Sonicxtacy2: What version of the BIOS are you using that you can disable the BIOS boot screen? I downloaded version 0103 from Intel last night and noticed no changes in BIOS options at all. Where do you find the option to disable the logo in the BIOS?

has anyone tried a PCI video card in this yet? Im thinking of going that route so I could use two headrest monitors. I've heard problems with XP booting with certain PCI video cards. I might go with the more expensive route of a pc-to-tv adaptor, that'll save the PCI slot for something else. Weighing my options.

you cant disable the image but u can change it to whatever you want.. so if you just wanted a black screen until windows loads u'd just add a black .bmp. This isnt an option from within the bios.. what you have to do is download the iflash version of the latest bios and download this bios image creator

    http://www.intel.com/design/motherbd...k/download.htm

follow the instructions to change the bios splashscreen. then create the bios image and load it just like you loaded the 0103.

Even with that, the post is way too long, or at least it is on my system.

the same here as posted previously. its a fantastic board for a car pc but having the bios post screen staying for 30-40 secs alone it takes ages to boot or de-hibernate (de-hibernate only takes 10 secs for 1 gb ram for me).

what is the trick with the bios to make post faster? bios upgrade (doubt), hardware issue (1gb ram check - how to disable, set to fast mode), 21/2 inch harddisk...

or is it the usb hub with 9 usb devices attached (gps mouse, wifi, dvb-t, touchscreen, usb keyboard, etc.) that tries to boot/recognize proprietary usb devices.

I am in the same boat you are in.
    1Gb of RAM
USB hub with multiple items plugged in (wireless KB, GPS, camera, WiFi)

I have tried the "change post image to blank" suggestion but saw no improvement.

I, along with many others, would love to try any suggestions.

enter your bios and turn off any unneeded onboard devices ie serial ports, audio(if using external). Other than that i really dont know what to tell you to do. My bios image is here and gone within 2 seconds.. pretty much making it pointless for me to change the intel image to a honda logo lol. It COULD be the memory because this point seems pretty picky on the memory type you use. It definitely doesnt use high-density chips and for some reason got slower with another type of non-brand memory. I'm using a kingston RAM (44 bucks from Circuit City) and everything is lightning fast.

I think that I have already disabled everything that I can but I will double check. For RAM I am using "MEM 1G|CORSAIR DII667 VS1GB667D2 R" from Newegg. What size RAM are you using?
