    Core 2 Duo, bugs they affect us

    Hi,

    I was reading slashdot today, and noted an article about bugs in the Duo cpus. There are a lot of them listed here:

    http://download.intel.com/design/pro...t/31327914.pdf

    One in particular stuck out -- AE30. This seems to be a big deal. Take a look at it and tell me if I should avoid using hibernation all togather...

    Well, if i'm reading the intel document right (posted May 2007, as opposed to the other one posted Jan of 06), that shows up as Errata AI21.

    Either way, both of those documents only address the following processor families:

    AI =
    Intel® Core™2 Extreme processor X6800Δ and Intel® Core™2 Duo desktop
    processor E6000Δ and E4000Δ sequence
    AE = Intel® Core™ Duo processor and Intel® Core™ Solo processor on 65nm process

    You want to be concerned with errata of the following:

    AH = Intel® Core™2 Duo mobile processor

    So, you may run into problems hibernating on a desktop (potentially), but there's nothing in there to suggest you will with the mobile version.
