Thread: In desperate need of help...

Here's my situation:

I have a Mazda 3 and have read that the stock HU in it can easily be "altered" and slightly dismantled to be able to fit in the glove box, freeing up the dash for an LCD to fit in. So, I tried to do this, using the guide found here.

I tinkered with it for a little while. I found that it wouldn't work sometimes, so I put it all back together to check to see if it worked at all anymore and it did. So, I took it apart again, following those instructions, and now it just won't turn on. When I plug in the harness, regardless of whether it's in its taken apart stage or fully assembled, the radio/HU will not turn on. The LCD screen will light up just fine (which is connected through the board on the HU), but when I press in the volume dial (which should power on the HU), it won't turn on.

So, now I figure I'm up the creek. I don't want to make it worse, but I also don't want to go dish out hundreds of bucks for a local shop or audio place to look at it. So, I'm at the mercy of you kind folks.

If you have any clues, suggestions, or would need any more information or pictures of anything, please let me know. I'd really like to get this thing working again, so if you have any guess, I'm open to all suggestions.
