Does any one have any idea how to hack or jury rig the TC-1000 Lilliput carputer to extend the shutdown time?

Mine takes about 4 seconds longer than the shutdown time, causing it to hard-shutdown each time.

If anyone has any ideas, I'd very much appreciate it!
