Im going to be getting the intel DG45ID motherboard, same as yours but in the micro-atx form factor. I hope this board is the key to finally having good on-board audio. I hate my sound blaster audigy nx. It causes me to have long boot times and no sound after stand bye. Im currently building an SQ system, but need the good sound. I hope this board works out.
There is also this really cheap board, I think I might try it out:

Awesome find!!!!
I just received this board (ZOTAC NF630I-D-E 775 GF7100 RT). I haven't played around with it a lot, but first impression is awesome. It seems very well built, has SATA, 4 USB ports, DVI and VGA out, chipset heatsink, replaceable CMOS battery (unlike my Commell board which came new with dead battery and i had to ghetto-solder a new one) and best of all - it POSTs blazingly fast! It displays a nice orange Zotac screen for like 1 second, and then starts booting right away.
Amazing board for being so cheap.![]()
i like the combo deal on that site:

anyhow... intel's atom 330 board will beat all other boards...
^ I doubt the intel atom is even remotely comparable in speed with a 2.5Ghz core 2..
Here's a benchmark that shows the Atom 330 WAY behind a A E1200 Celeron (which itself is clearly behind a Core 2 E5200 or better):

The atom is clearly the best choice IF you really care about power.. which I don't really care about in my car to be honest (not to mention the new 45nm Core 2 chips are fairly power-efficient as well).
As long as you are running 2-ch audio and a common front end, you are fine with an Atom. It is when you get to DVD playback and FLAC that it becomes an issue of lack of power. Especially with a skin and a bunch of USB drivers running at the same time.
