    what I was getting at is: get a switch that was meant to go there and install it.

    I am using this switch - it sits practically flush to the surface and looks great against the aluminium centre console which i built!! I opened up the tablet PC which is the backbone to my Car PC and soldered this across the existing on/off switch - i can still use either switch. Push for on, push for off (courtesy of windows xp)
