    Changing Door Chime Sound

I'm attempting to alter the warning sound the car makes in lieu of a complete PC install. (Nothing wrong, I just don't like the sound :-p) For the 99 Aurora, the chime is built into a body control module (MALL) controlling essentially all interior electronics. There's a large IC in the unit with two pins connected directly to a two-pin speaker header just like a PC header. A 16 ohm speaker is connected to this.
So, would there be any way to use the audio signal off this header as either a) a trigger for a microcontroller to generate a different sound or b) an input for some sort of small inline sound modulator that I can use to at least tweak the signal? If so, what do I need?

I don't reckon anyone has been picky enough about their warning chime to try this, but I thought I'd ask.

    Thanks!

Within the FAQs we have here, on the OEM/Factory/Stock Audio Integration Products Companies post, I found that www.pac-audio.com makes a part model TR-4:
Senses voltages as low as 0.8 volts and gives you a 12 volt output with a one second delay. Trigger off of speaker leads or +5 volt remote wires.
    • Add a remote turn on for aftermarket amplifiers in vehicles without a factory remote wire.
    • Eliminates turn on pops in amplifiers

Or something like that, I'm sure If you search you'll be able to find some from a few different websites.
