    Minimum Processor for Divx

Will the original Athlon Thunderbird at 700MHz play a divx movie?

My AMD k6/2 500 will play, but the sound is always about 10 seconds out of sync. Guess Celerons are more powerful than K6/2's.

no argueing here kid.. just asking..

i know you mentioned your player before, but i forgot.. what software are you using ??

You system is able to play these 100min movies with a 700mb file.. ???
sweet.... and it doesn't skip ??? and sound is not out off sync ?? hmmm. is there also some kind of plugin which can show subtitles in dos ???

BTW.. my celleron has nothing installed but the OS, mediaplayer, and the Divx 4.12 codec .... in the past I've had numerous apps on this machine.. and the divx playback was affected by that.. the sollution then was to pop in another 64mb of ram.. since I got a new machine and wasn't using the celly for the real stuff anymore, i ripped out the 64mb because I needed it for some other system, removed all the unnescessary (?) software, and use it for divx... (rather than collecting dust...)

    Greetz,
I am using Quick View (don't ask me where to get it)
It plays the Matrix (578meg 137mins)....
It plays without skipping, but I am not sure about the sound as I never got the DOS soundcard drivers working.. :P lol
