Do I need a powered USB hub? Or will a regular one work?

Just wondering if I need a 5 volt usb hub....or if i can get away with a regular one.

Uses: A wireless keyboard, from time to time.
Possibly but very sparingly a mouse.
    Monitor?
    Camera?
    Microphone?
    ipod?
    GPS?

Obviously not everythig will be used at the same time.

Just not sure what to get.

yeah, you are more than likely going to need a powered hub... if all those things are plugged in at the same time you will get drop outs where one of them stops working, or all of them stop...

if you use the various USB ports on your motherboard, you might be able to get away with NOT having a 5V supply... you can "steal" the 5V off of your power supply...

Okay..thanks for that info. Next question: How do you 'power' the 5V usb? Is it connected to the P2140? Or is it a separate entity going straight to the battery?

red/black wires (that lead to hard drives) provide a stable 5V, so you tap into those... or you can pick up a small 5V regulator... they have one for like $30 in the mp3car store
