VIA PCI Riser, how do I put it on, and will it fit in my case?

I just bought one of these for my VIA M10000. Im kind of confused at how it is installed. On the ebay picture were I bought it, it shows the riser facing outward. Is this correct? I figured it would face inward to maintain taking up less space. My plan was to use this to add another graphics card and a USB card for even more USB ports. Here is a link to the riser.http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=160115485172 If I use the riser, will I have to buy a special case? I bought this one from mp3car http://store.mp3car.com/Morex_3677_M..._p/enc-022.htm, but Im wondering if it will be to small to support the riser. If it is too small, what case do you recommend, I dont want anything to big, it has to be able to fit into my center console.

Also on another note, would it be wise to use a VGA splitter so I can connect 2 monitors per graphics card. Im using CF, so I wanted the passenger and rear passenger screen to use one card to do what they want, and another for the driver side tv and the main head unit.

OK i have the epia mII 12000 board. http://store.mp3car.com/VIA_EPIA_MII..._p/mtb-002.htm

The riser that you bought is a face away from the board. DO NOT TRY TO USE IT THE OTHERE WAY!!!!!!! You will fry the card and anything connected to it just so you know. Also and am i reading that right that you want to have more video cards on your board. Read this link..http://www.mini-itx.com/store/?c=8#p1908. If you are going to add some high powered cards then you may want to get an active riser card. Here is a link on the same site for good cases.http://www.mini-itx.com/store/?c=3#c134 hope that helps alittle bit on what you are trying to do.

Yes I saw that it had to face out..... I had to call MP3Car and change the case that I ordered to a diffrent one. I just hope this new case will fit into my console. I plan on using a ADD-ONIIO-PU520 5 PTS USB 2.0 PC, has 4 ports on the outside and 1 on the inside..... the graphics card is not super power hungry..... i think its like 16mb of onboard ram. Its a ATI Rage card. Thanx for your insight.

Cool. Yea i"m running a 256 meg nvidia card on the bottom slot and a wireless card on the top slot of the PCI riser card. The video that comes on my MII just is not enough to get me were i want to be. I'm making a case for mine i just can't find the right one that i like.

I decided to get this case from Mp3Car, http://store.mp3car.com/Morex_2777_M..._p/enc-025.htm, its the only one i found with 2 PCI slots. Im not sure if it will still fit in my center console though. If not it will go under the passenger seat.

Let me ask..... I have 2 graphix cards , both are VGA..... One has TV out but I do not plan to use it.... what I wanted to do is get a splitter for one card....... it will be the card for passenger front and passenger rear. The other card will also be split for headunit and driver side screen..... the 2 flip down monitirs are RCA, so I bought 2 converters that are adapters that adapt the plug from VGA to RCA.... will it be as good as quality, better or worse?

VGA to rca you should be ok. RCA to VGA is not good. The picture maybe if anything a little blury but not to bad. Thats what I'm doing I'm running my rear cam into my capture card then to a rear monitor. It looks ok i can live with it.

Thanks for the reply............. OK thats cool then........... I decided to only have the headunit VGA....... all the rest will be RCA.... Graphics Cars 1 will have a VGA splitter... on one end going to a VGA and the other to a VGA to RCA for the driver sunvisor tv...... Graphics Card 2 will have one VGA to RCA then a RCA splitter, which will then go to the passenger sunvisor tv and the rear 20 inch tv..... do you think splitting all this will cause issues? I know on my media pc it is connected to my tv and to my slingbox... if i have the sling box connected the tv is very dark with the colors, then when i unplug the sling box, the tv goes to normal... Will this happen with my carpc?

It's possiable. Splitting the signal that much may have a weird blurry effect on it. The only thing i can say is try it and see what happens. You may need a small composite video amp and that will fix your problem if you have one.
