    Great small monitor

First time on here, but just wanted to let all of you know about a small superVGA monitor that I just purchased. It's a 9" diagonal and the picture quality is awesome, it can run 1028x768 but things are pretty small then so I'm running 800x 600. Runs off the regular Video card. It's made by Axiom and I bought it for 160 dollars Canadian. Of course you'll need an inverter for this but I already have one. There is also a similiar one made by Proview. If you have room (I'm mounting it in the center console of my 88 Toyota Supra Turbo, and it'll fit => Actually I'm using the monitor right now, it's really dwarfed by my 20" monitor sitting right beside. The part number is CV-1053 or CV-1028PA. Hope this may be of interest. Thanks.

I think you neglected to mention that its a 12 inch thick CRT monitor, not an LCD. How can you mount that in a Toyota?

Actually I thought it was obvious that it was a CRT monitor when I called it a "monitor" => (Not an LCD as I never heard of these refered to as monitors on this forum). The overall width of the enclosure is just over 10" but if you take it out of the case it's really only around 8". The depth wasn't too much of a problem in my car, as when you take out the centre console where the radio sits there really isn't much in there to prevent you from mounting it. Actually I called for the price for a new unit (mine was used) and was shocked to find out it is $350 US!!! I roughly paid 80 US for it with the Can/Us exchange factor. Hope that clears up some of the missunderstanding. Cheers........Shawn

I'm highly interested in the CV-1053, except I can't find a retailer anywhere. Does anyone know where the monitors from either company can be purchased, preferrably in the US?

I was lucky to find a brand new 12 in 800x600 LCD desktop monitor for 350 bucks. Works great. I think LCD is the way to go you just have to scour the net to find the good deals.
