Thumbs up new hard drive rack, cheap :)

so, i was looking around on newegg for a new external hard drive to make it easier to sync all my stuff from home comp to the car, and i stumbled upon a hard drive rack that is made to go in a 5.25" bay, it uses all the regular internal conections (ide, molex power) and has an easily removable 3.5" drive tray. so i bought 2, one for the home, one for the car, and a 250gb drive and im going to completly reinstall windows, rr and all the other misc stuff on it, and just take out my external drive.

i just wanted to share because i think it will make syncing much much easier/faster, and i figured someone else may be able to use it.

    here's the link:

i will post results/quality when i get it.

these things have been around for years, I would think most that know anything about pc's has seen these before... one drawback to these is they tend to cause more heat problems, especially with modern huge fast drives...

i know they've been around for a long time, i just haven't heard any mention of them on the forums for syncing, most people seem to use a flash drive (small, pretty slow) so i thought i'd throw this out there as an idea to make it easier and faster.

i hadn't thought about heat issues tho lol, the rack does have a fan on the back, so that might help, and i can always add more fans to it.

it has a fan because it NEEDS a fan... try it, you might be ok with it, don't mean to put this down really, but heat will be your biggest problem, fan noise will be your second biggest problem

lol, not too worried about fan noise, my music and videos almost always cover most noise.
so, i guess we'll see how it works, worst comes to worst it was only $30 for 2 of them, so its not much of a loss, lol
