Webcam ?
i am looking to try and find a video camera that is USB which will be good for backup cam, all the cameras i find are just video out and not USB
i need something around 120 degree horizontal and like 90 vertical...
if you know of a way were i can buy a camera maybe change lenses? or anything let me know, this is a big thing i need
Webcam ?
Now Galileo is real. Muhahahahaha :p
If you can find a webcam with a wide enough viewing angle, that would be the route to go with. The trouble with webcams, is that they're designed to be used with the web (for video conferencing, etc.) so they have a fairly narrow viewing angle, for the most part.

ya... i have been looking but unsuccessful, any other way of doing a good reverse cam? maybe using RCA video ? i dunno i need some suggestions on how people hooked up reverse cam
You can do it directly into your screen through an RCA input. If you want to record backup video, use an RCA to USB card.
Backup cams are more usefull if you don't have to wait for the system to boot in order to use it, so the direct input would be best. If your screen has auto-switching, you can wire the camera to get power from your reverse lights. It will power the camera only when you are in reverse, and the screen will sense it, and switch to that input.
Post exactly what you want, and I'll give you a better idea of how to achieve it.

Oh, you could also use a splitter with one input going directly into the screen, and one input going to the USB card. You could still make it switch the screen automatically, you'd just need to use a relay.

Well I did have an awesome post all written up last night with directions, and an awesome MSPaint schematic, but just before I posted the site went down. Now I'm on my phone, so I'll try to post the schematic, but I'm not going to retype it all.
