It is just a video amp right? (http://www.ortodoxism.ro/datasheets/sanyo/VP453.pdf)
So any video amp should work. Why are you stuck with that component?
This isn't carPC related - I guess it could be if anyone has enough room for a 21" CRT monitor in their car but here goes the question. I'm searching for a Sanyo VP453 IC (video driver IC). Googleing it only comes up with sites that want you to buy qtys of 100 or more. Anyone have a good supplier for simiconductors they can point me to?
Type slow, I'm old and slow and sometimes forget -- what were we talking about again?

Correct, it is a video amp. To say "any" video amp would work is, well, a broad statement. Yes, any video amp with the same specs and pin outs would work. So far I have found no cross refs to any - NTE, ECG, SK.

This mfgr site says that IC has been discontinued. You may find it through their distributors though.

Correct again, and absolutly possible to mount another elsewhere. I would only do that as a last resort - OEM or a direct cross would be my preferred method but thanks for your help.

Thanks, I guess I should have mentioned thats where I started - none of the distributers have been able to help so far - thanks again.

Hunting a chip like that is a waste of time - when google turns up crap distrubutor sites, you're SOL.
The good news is that as long as you have the datasheet, you can retrofit a modern replacement.
I'd check the Analog Devices web site for something similar. I think they even do free samples.
