Yes the mic is not muted. Went to the control panel and tried to configure thru the sound and audio devices. Gonna check with another mic just to be sure.
Ok the problem was the mic ( a soundmax superbeam) hooked up a diff mic and all is great!!!
Have you verified that the mix is unmuted from the windows sound manager?

i am also having problems installing/updating any bios version above 105.
all the network-card, audio, usb etc. devices are disabled in xp and re-installing devices does not help. it always lists a resource conflict.
putting bios 105 back everything works fine again. why that? do i need to re-install windows xp? but how if no usb device nor lan is working
I have a d201gly and d201gly2. I got the d201gly2 after the first board because I wanted 64 bit support and sata support. The performance is about the same between the two boards. The one issue with the d201gly2 is that there's no fan and the heatsink gets pretty hot (too hot to touch) so I'd recommend using in a case with a fan. I also had Linux, XP, and Vista running at different times without any issues. Right now I'm using the board as a file server and I'm very happy with the performance. I'll probably sell the d201gly on ebay since it's just sitting on my desk now.
