$199 Full 'Green' PC looks perfect for the car

There is probably a ton of wasted space in that case, so I'd rip the components out, but this looks like a great way to get some parts that would work real well in the car environment. Engadget thinks that it is a peice of .... But personally I would buy this if I hadn't bought all of my compnents yet. I wonder what the motherboard model # is?!

HA! I was just coming here to post the exact same thing. This PC would be great to buy and harvest all (well almost) of the necessary parts for a decent carpc at a great price.
All you really need is a small case (Voom PC) and a DC-DC power supply (M2ATX)

there is no point, just buy an intel mini itx for 80 bucks. the hardrive is so small that it's not worth it. so you would be overpaying for a crappy motherboard and small hardrive.

and I'm sure the motherboard is crap.

I saw this as well. If the motherboard is decent at all, it could be worth it. Anybody wanna pick one up and test it out, find out how the motherboard is? I'm not sure how good the return policy with walmart is, but I'm sure they would have no problem with returning it the next day if you were unsatisfied. It also allows for 2 gb of ram, which seems to be more than most allow.
I love this quote from the Wired Blog:
Even at the low end, image is everything: The gPC is built using tiny components, but put inside a full-size case because research indicates that Wal-Mart shoppers are so unsophisticated they equate physical size with capability.

lol.. true! It reminds me of the Old School floor model TV's. You could fit a stereo, bet-max VHS, an 8-track and a record player in those beasts.

Walmart picked on the size as a marketing decisision. It seems that SFF from Walmart remind customers of the $30 dvd players. Oh and it come with Linux.
