Plexiglass arent as strong as Lexan. One false move will crack it. Thats why I use Lexan. It's super strong and will not crack even if you beat it with a hammer. The only problem with Lexan is it scratches very easily. When you hit it with a hammer, it'll only leave a mark. If you are a careful crafter or if the plastic must be placed somewhere it can be easily scratched (between the seats) then plexiglass will be a better choice. If you need to put screws in the plastic from the sides then Lexan will be a better choice. This is my prelimiary case. I'll make a better looking case when I have time. Notice the case is screwed together like a speaker box. I did this so I can take the case apart easily and not worry about cracking it.

That's a pretty good effort for a preliminary case!

    Nice job.

Yeah she's going under the seat. I thought about lexan but its also much more expensive. I picked enough plexi to make 2 of these cases for 25 at menards. Not too shabby. I might very well go to laxan later on, but this is just preliminary. Probably wont be what ends up in the car.

Your case is coming out very nice! I just made one myself a couple weekends ago, and its not as clean looking as yours is, but it passes enough for me.. I went to a glass shop to get the plexiglass and It cost me 35$ which I thought was a little much and they did a crappy job cutting it too (not going there anymore!) Just out of curiosity, what are you using to connect all the sides together? I used epoxy which I knew was a bad idea from the start beacuse once it hardens it cracks pretty easily, so I ended up using L brackets backwards as corner brackets on each end, which made things a little messier looking.. I didn't know what else to use..

I havnt attached the sides yet. They are just held down by pressure. I will probably use some plexi glue stuff. They dont have to be very solid. the case is held together by downward presure from the top plate.
