Are you still running that simple VGA to RGsB converter cable with no issues, or have you gone to something else?

I am planning a car pc install for my E39 M5, and want to use the factory screen and buttons to control it all, without having to resort to buying some expensive converters, since I plan on gutting the stock radio, nav, and cd changer.

Hello xr4tic! I have personally given up any RGsB converter and now I am feeding the video signal through the TV module analog input.
Please note the by removing your NAV unit, you will also loose the ability to control the OBC with your LCD monitor. The NAV unit is responsible for showing OBC data on the LCD and for setting/resetting language/date/time, fuel consumption and so on.

I too gave up on RGsB input and replaced the 6.5" LCD with a 7" Lilliput LCD that accepts normal VGA.

Bummer, I was really hoping to be able to use the factory monitor. I guess this just forces me to go to a touch-screen setup sooner. I think I can get an 8" widescreen to fit in there.

Losing the OBC isn't really a big deal, maybe there's a way to make it work with the ibus interface?

ondafly, can you add more details about your setup please? I can see a brief description of the hardware in the beginning of the movie but I would like to know more, especially about the CIS adapter.
