I don't understand why they sell it as a "builder's kit"... it's practically preassembled already.
it would take more time to package the components separately than it would to assemble it and package only 1 item in a smaller box... lol

It's a $300 pico-ITX mobo/case with a 1 GHz via processor, 4 USB ports, VGA out, audio. Its pretty sweet. Just add RAM, HD, and CD or Wifi if desired.
It's certainly not king of the castle, but it doesnt have to be. Adding RAM and a HD shouldn't cost over $150, so total its like $450, not a bad price if you ask me.
What does the mp3car community think?

i just saw that on engadget and came here to see if anyone was thinking about it too.
I like the idea and it would get rid of my giant bulky custom center console but my only issue with these small things is no pci slot for my sound card. I used integrated sound for 6 months before upgrading to my audigy and will never go with out it.
I am thinking about it right now. You are saying that RAM and HDD is $150 extra but I am pretty sure u have or know of someone who has an old unused laptop just sitting under their bed, guess what the ram and HDD can be used in this stetup. I just looking through their manuals and it seems that the unit has DC-DC transformer already in it and guess what it runs from 12V. I already sent them an email asking about the current needed at 12V just to make sure that it can be easily setup in a car. I think I'll be actually getting me one of these since they are small and cheap. Then use USB optical bundle and run that to my amp

Joey, I understand your issue with the Audio (I run integrated thru my HU, and im happy with it tho) but I'd think it better to use USB accessories. Some people can do it, But I cant see how in the hell people can use towers and add on cards! It's just not for me, I'm small case, USB all the way.
This little guy seems to be great for small spaces on the cheap
