Calling all users of the XMPCR with Digital-Out mod!!!

    Hi all,

If you own or have owned an XMPCR with the Optical Out mod, and are using a USB soundcard, please do share with me, what soundcard are you using for your pc? It seems to me that the Audigy 2 NX is my only choice but I'm tired of using a card that requires it's own power source and that doesn't come out of standby correctly!

    Thanks!

I have a turtle beach roady. I had to use a switch in streetdeck for the audio to work... the soundcard will not normally monitor the spdif in.

wow someome from new orleans on here!

Yep, New Orleans boy here. My favorite city. Which works out well since I live here.

So you are able to use the spdif output on the XMPCR with the Roadie? If I would have known that I would have gotten the Roadie a long time ago! I read the Roadie manual which said that the SPDIF input cannot be passed thru to the analog output.

This must be what you mean by a "switch in Streetdeck." How exactly does this switch work?

I think it constantly records and plays back the input you specify.if you run stretdeck with /? after it, a list of switches will pop up on the screen. The one you want to use is something like xmaaudio bla bla.... I will check my streetdeck shortcut and see what the switch is.

Thanks so much! I'll be getting a Roadie! All of my Audigy headaches will hopefully finally go away! Let me know on that switch whenever you find out.

Hang on dnatrance... I hope I didn't just jump too soon on the Roadie (I just ordered one).

I read in another post of yours that you're using the SPDIF OUT of your Roadie as well. Is that true. That isn't going to help me because I would be using the analog out, and I don't know that the Roadie can pass the SPDIF In to the Analog out at all...

I have a Audigy 2 NX. I power it right off the 5V rail from my Opus PSU.

It comes out of standby just fine, as long as your not using XP Service Pack 2. I tried for days to try to get it to work under SP2 with no luck.

Yup, I'm on SP2 unfortunately. Did you have to do a fresh install to go back to SP1? I assume there's no way to just uninstall SP2?

dnatrance, I looked at the list of switches for SD and I don't see anything about XM audio. Can you tell me the exact switch name?

    Thanks.
