I was wondering if my Opus 320 would be able to power these hubs. Ultimately I wanted to remove the the 3 hubs that are there now and route everything to the 7 port hub, and the 4 port USB card. The system has 2 onboard USB ports, which are being used for the keyboard and touch screen. The second 7 port hub will be strictly for 6 usb touch pads for each person, intergrated to the arm rests to the right of each passenger. 2 for front, 2 for middle, 2 for rear. Im doing this because sometimes its a mission to reach up to the screen. The PC takes up about 168 watts. With all its components, id say about 250 watts or less. The only thing that will be connected to the USB card are things like the USB aircard (sprint evdo rev. a), slim DVD rom, and the the 2, 7 port hubs. Anything and everything else will go into hub 1, and all the touch pads into hub 2.
a touch pad for each passenger?!? sounds like a bigger nightmare than installing and routing all the cables! you should just get a wireless keyboard to pass around! LOL
as for powering, just go look at the specs for each... should be able to tell from that if it'l work...
lol, i forgot about this post.... I got rid of the touch pad idea. I do have a keyboard, infact im buying 2 more. I have the PS3 wireless keyboard. I bought 3 presenters, that work like mice. They are small and hand held. Best of all you need only one USB transmitter to use all 3. Im hoping the same goes for the PS3 keyboards.
