    DIN size

How big is one DIN? What size project box would you recommend for mounting a 40x4 in a single din?

OK, a DIN is 7 in wide by 2 inches tall right? I only need it to go back like 5-6 in, but I imagine there's room for like 8 in.

So, I'm looking for a project box (preferably metal) that's 7x2xD (LxHxD) where D is anywhere between 5 and 8 inches. Thanks.

This thread has some ideas where you can get boxes:

    Double DIN empty box?

Find an old slide out cassette player and just use the sleve, start from there!
