Thread: anything wrong with hooking up xm AND radio to same line-in?

    I don't see any reason why that wouldn't work...but that's the last time I scour the net to find you a switchbox since you aren't even going to use it

    it sounds feasible, but it also sounds like more work than it's worth...

    it would be easier to just get the switch box jontz linked to (BTW, nice find jontz ). you could mount it to the side of your center console, or wire a new switch to it to mount somewhere on your dash, console, etc.

    i got an audigy 2zs off eBay for about $40.

    lol.. it doesnt.. and honestly i havent found a sound card with 2 line-in's for less than $200

    i think the issue was that his sound card has one line lin and one mic in, but the mic input is disabled when anything is plugged into the line-in port. i was suggesting he pick up a sound card that can accept both inputs.

    Ick...you do realize that most mic inputs are mono, not stereo, and they have such high gain that the connected device sounds like

    thanks for the idea but he's correct.. mic-in's are TERRIBLE when it comes to the audio quality. I found this out as soon as i plugged the xm into it. Its bad as it is but TERRIBLE hooked up there lol.
