    Home made volume knob

So i thought i'd share what i made, so someone else could try as well.
i saw this mod on hackaday a while ago, and i decided to do it.
my setup, i hid the head unit, and i still prefer an analog volume changer, so this mod is perfect for me.

    Required materials:
1 x scroll mouse: preferably the old ones without optical, because they use the analog scroll as suppose to the optical ones in the newer ones.
    1 x volume knob
    1 x solder gun

    Steps:
    1) Open up the mouse, and you'll see the scroller right away, it should be a 3 legged device. (now if you had one of those newer ones, that uses optical sensor instead, then u'll need to find a volume encoder from older units like car headunit, old home amplifier and desolder them, and they can be soldered right onto the board with the 3 solder spots. This is what i did, because i didnt have one with analog scroller)
    2) desolder the device and connect it to 3 long wires.
    3) mount it wherever you like
    4) Throw on the nicest volume knob u can find around the house.
    4) wolla

Wow you have a really nice clean looking setup. Good to see you got your Xenarc fixed. btw...you might have better luck getting those Jay Chou song titles to display in chinese if you go into your regional settings > system local and change it to chinese (hong kong sar).

haha, thanks for the the headup, but i don't know how to read or understand chinese, i just like jaychow lol. so whether i can see it or not really makes no difference.

IG4 doesnt embed properly in Centrafuse, so I am sticking to IG3 until there is a fix. But the map on IG3 is so old, my house isnt even listed.
