Thread: Video in Windows Media Player only shows up on one screen

    Video in Windows Media Player only shows up on one screen

    If I hook up a second monitor and play a video file in windows media player the video only shows on one screen.

    Even if the image is cloned between the two screens, the windows media player window will show up on both, but the video will only show up on one.

    I thought I remembered hearing/reading about this before, but I cannot find anything about it again.

    make sure hardware acceleration is turned off
    PC Components:

    also check in tools option performance advanced turn off overlays

    Is it NVidia? I have hardware acceleration and overlays on. Dualview because they are different resolutions. That's probably what you need. Then in "Modify full-screen video options" I just switch to "Also show it full-screen on my [Autodetect]"

    Turning hardware acceleration down quite a bit has done it. Basically, I had to turn it down to one level before it disabled multi monitor support...so sad. Damn old IBM laptop.
