Well, I'm having a hard time finding a GOOD laptop to replace the one I am using, that supports dual monitors...but lets not focus on why or what I'm doing with my install, really I just want to see what the difference is in CPUs!
The laptop I was using was a p3 1.0 GHz, it could barely handly the load I was putting on it, if I upgrade to a new Laptop, I will need to spend atleast $1200, I can build a decent MicroITX for 300 - 600, or 2 Picos for about the same...depending on how a C7 1.0 GHz Actually runs I may get better performance with 2 boards...seeing as how I'm not sharing the bus, memory, video amungst all the apps...

Mini-itx and nano-itx are just formfactors. You can get a C3 on a uATX board, and a core 2 duo on an itx board.

If you want video rendering, then the via boards are out because of the Apollo chipset they use which is useless for rendering. For mpeg decoding and such, it is fine. But for encoding, it just dies. It is not even fully DX compatible.

I understood perfectly, however I didn't ask about Core 2 Duo, or Micro ATX

basicly My situation is, I dont really ahve the space for anything biggin then an Micro ITX, I might be able to Stack 2 on top of each other, but not likely. so the smallest MoBo available is the Pico ITX, but I have yet to find any one that can give me an idea of the speed these little things put out. No one seems to understand that I am looking to see how the C7 CPU chips fall in line with Intel or AMD chips, ie some one said the C3 1.0 GHz is about the same as an Intel PIII 600, thats perfect I now know that a C3 is slow as crap and wont handle my application.

while I would love to put in a c2d 2.6 on a nice banging MoBo, there is No room even 5 CM more then the 17cm, will be Pushing my space constraints.

so again I ask How do the C7 CPUs on the VIA mother boards compair?

Is the C7 1 GHz, like a P4 1GHz? More, less? the same goes with the C7 1.2, or the C7 1.5, how about the C7 2.GHz, is it anything close to an AMD athlon 3200+, or maybe (if I was lucky) a AMD AM2.

I know they don't run as hot as the one listed above, and they dont ahve the power consumption, but right know neither of those factors mater as I don't really ahve the space for anything other then Micro ITX, Nano ITX, or Pico ITX....

Now I know some one is reading this and thinking what a whinny little B...H, but I ahve looked everywhere for this compairisons, I have yet to find anything I asked here, well becuase this forum is prettymuch dedicated to Embed systems, which is what this CPUs, and form factors are ment for. I would have asked at Mini-itx.com, but I can't find there forums!

In general you can think of the C7 as about 20% slower than a Celeron Mobile of the same clock speed.

I think your making a big deal out of nothing..... You have a ton of room in your trunk for a fairly small system. Buy this http://www.logicsupply.com/products/ms_7265 then a PSU, then a processor, then http://www.logicsupply.com/products/2766 RAM, and your all done. You will have a system thats small, and it will be overkillllllllllllllllllllllllll with power for your video etc.
